History
The Biblical story of Southern California stands as a testimony of God's providence, who merged three institutions dedicated to teaching the doctrines and lifestyle of the Bible for the next generation.
Southern California Seminary
In July 1997 Southern California Bible College and San Diego Bible College and Seminary joined with Linda Vista Baptist Bible College and Seminary. The name of Southern California Bible College and Seminary was formulated to reflect a broader scope. This serves as a banner under which we do our work and clearly reflects our purpose, so that there is no confusion about the programs we offer. Dr. Coombs is chairman of this institution and Dr. Hare was elected Chancellor. In July 2005 the name of "Southern California Bible College and Seminary" was simplified to "Southern California Seminary”.
Al-Andalus Theological Seminary
At the beginning of 2001, Southern California Seminary Foundation and ABRE (Biblical Restoration Evangelical Alliance) began a dialogue on the possibility of an extension program at Southern California Seminary in Andalusia, the region in southern Spain. One of the aims of the Foundation was to establish an accredited Bible college in this region because they saw it had a great need. After much research and preparation, the proposed extension program at Southern California Seminary in the province of Seville, called "The Learning Center Al-Andalus," finally became a reality in November 2002 when it was officially approved by the accrediting agency TRACS. In March 2006 the name was changed from "School Al-Andalus" to "Al-Andalus Theological Seminary" to better reflect the nature and focus of the Center.
